Thorn Close, Wednesbury

 Refurbishment of an existing occupied apartment block together with four new build apartments. 

The project included the refurbishment of 12 one-bed single storey apartments, 16 three-bed 2-storey apartments and construction of four one-bed single storey apartments including landscaped areas, new bin and cycle store, drainage and highways works and new car parking provision. Tenants remained in residence throughout the works. A separate respite unit was provided for tenants to decant into during the day whilst works were undertaken on their property. This required excellent communication with tenants, support networks and the council, together with effective programme management to ensure minimal time in the respite unit. Four coffee mornings were held for tenants of the apartments. This included arts and crafts sessions for the children.
