Our staff and subcontractors work really hard in their day jobs but have now agreed to go the extra kilometer… well, 30.5 to be absolutely accurate - and all in a good cause. But it isn’t just the distance that appears really daunting, to master this challenge we will also have to traverse 2,309 meters of elevation.

SWG team to peak 12 times in one day during Snowdonia challenge
Ain’t No Mountain High Enough
Yes, we are tackling 12 peaks across Snowdonia to raise funds for the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, an organisation that is very well known to us and one that is having a really positive impact on so many lives.

On Saturday 14th June, we will be trekking across the 12 peaks in the Glyder and Carneddau ranges, starting at Ogwen Cottage and finishing at Aber Falls. The peaks include: Y Garn, 947m, Glyder Fawr, 1,001m, Castell y Gwynt, 972m, Glyder Fach, 994m, Tryfan 918m – an optional peak to make it 13, Pen yr Ole Wen, 978m, Carnedd Fach, 960m, Carnedd Dafydd, 1,044m, Carnedd Llewelyn, 1,064m, Foel Grach, 976m, Carnedd Gwenllian, 926m, Foel Fras, 942m, and Drum 770m.

Needless to say, our goal is to raise as much money as possible for Lighthouse – an organisation committed to providing emotional, physical and financial support to the construction community.
It is a charity very close to our hearts as we all know people who have benefitted from the good work Lighthouse is doing. It is frightening to think that every working day in the UK two construction workers take their own life and Lighthouse is the only charity providing bespoke support to the construction community through its 24/7 Helpline.

A worthy cause
We know that the 12-peak challenge will be tough, but we are determined to give it our best shot and raise much-needed funds for this most worthy of causes that receives no public funding, so relies totally on the construction industry to support its own.
